Waterproofing & Damp Proofing

Stop the leak. Seal the surface. Do it properly.

Water rarely enters where you see it. We diagnose the real source, specify the right system and apply it to manufacturer standards, whether the problem is on a roof, a wall, a balcony or a basement.

Problem & approach

Where these projects go wrong, and how we handle them.

The usual problem

Most waterproofing failures are treated at the symptom, not the source. A quick coat over a ceiling stain, a damp wall or a balcony crack hides the problem while water keeps finding its way in. Tiled roofs, flat concrete roofs, parapets, flashings, balconies, basements, retaining walls, bathrooms and planter boxes each fail differently, and each needs a different response.

Our approach

We start with a proper diagnosis, then prepare the substrate thoroughly before any product is applied. As an approved applicator of Rubber Sealant Liquid Rubber, we specify the correct system for the area (roof, wall, balcony, basement or wet room) and apply it to the specification the guarantee depends on.

Where we apply it

Waterproofing and damp proofing, not only on roofs.

The same diagnosis-first approach works anywhere water finds a way in. Here are the areas we are regularly asked to look at.

  • Tiled, metal/IBR and flat concrete roofs
  • Parapet walls and coping details
  • Balconies and exposed slabs
  • Basements and retaining walls
  • Bathrooms and wet rooms
  • Planter boxes and built-in planters

What may be included

Scope you can actually read.

The exact line items on your quote depend on the site inspection. This is the shape of what a typical project of this type includes.

  • On-site inspection and honest diagnosis of the water path
  • Written scope covering the area, failure type and system to be used
  • Substrate cleaning, priming and reinforcement of critical details
  • Application of a specified Liquid Rubber or equivalent system
  • Detailing at parapets, flashings, penetrations, joints and drains
  • Post-application walk-through and workmanship guarantee documentation

Products we work with

The Systems Behind the Work.

  • Rubber Sealant logo

Approved applicator and authorised reseller of Rubber Sealant Liquid Rubber.

  • Plascon logo

Our preferred paint on most projects.

We are not a Plascon approved applicator. Plascon is simply the paint we choose to specify for its quality and track record, and we will recommend a different system where a project calls for it.

Honest limits

What we will tell you up front.

A proper contractor should be honest about what a service can and cannot do. These are the things we will always flag.

  • Cracked or displaced roof tiles, severe rust perforation, blocked or under-sized drainage and structural faults may require separate repair before waterproofing.
  • Solar panels, geysers or antennas that sit over the work area may need to be removed and re-installed by an appropriate installer at the owner's cost.
  • The 13-year manufacturer product guarantee applies only where the manufacturer inspects, the system is specified correctly, the application is certified and maintenance conditions are met.
  • Rising damp, subsurface drainage failure and structural cracking may need specialist investigation before a coating will solve the problem.
  • We do not perform structural roof repairs, timber truss work or full roof re-covering. We will refer you to a suitable trade where those are needed.
